About this role
Varda seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to develop mission-critical firmware for spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules in low Earth orbit. You'll own the complete software lifecycle from requirements and design through testing and flight operations, working on real-time systems that directly impact commercial space infrastructure.
What you'll do
- Develop reliable firmware controlling spacecraft and reentry capsule operations throughout entire missions
- Own all phases of software development including design, testing, and integration
- Capture requirements and conduct design trades for open-ended spacecraft problems
- Write quality C++ code for bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based embedded processors
- Build highly reliable and available software systems with rigorous verification and validation
- Support flight operations and ensure system quality through comprehensive testing
