About this role
Varda seeks a Space Flight Software Engineer to develop reliable flight software for spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules operating in low Earth orbit. You'll own the complete software development lifecycle—from requirements and design through testing and flight operations—working on safety-critical systems that power commercial space infrastructure.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain flight software for spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules using C++
- Write bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based embedded software for spacecraft processors
- Manage end-to-end software development including design, testing, integration, and validation
- Capture requirements and perform design trades for open-ended space systems problems
- Execute software verification, validation, and testing to ensure system quality and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve problems and support flight operations
