About this role

Varda seeks an experienced embedded software engineer to develop and maintain reliable firmware for spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules operating in low Earth orbit. You'll own the complete software lifecycle—from requirements and design through testing and flight operations—using C++ on bare metal, RTOS, and Linux platforms.

What you'll do

  • Develop reliable firmware controlling spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule operations throughout the mission lifecycle
  • Own all aspects of software development including design, testing, and integration
  • Scope projects and capture requirements for open-ended problems with initial design trade studies
  • Write high-quality C++ code for embedded processors on bare metal, RTOS, or Linux systems
  • Build highly reliable and available software systems with fault tolerance
  • Perform verification, validation, and testing to ensure system quality and performance
