About this role

Varda seeks a Flight Software Engineer II to develop reliable software for spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules operating in orbit. You'll own the complete software lifecycle from requirements and design through testing and flight operations for safety-critical systems.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain flight software for spacecraft and reentry capsule operations throughout mission lifecycle
  • Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based software in C++ for embedded processors
  • Own full software development cycle including design, testing, integration, and verification
  • Scope and define requirements for open-ended problems with design tradeoff analysis
  • Perform software test, verification, and validation (V&V) to ensure system quality and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve problems and communicate technical solutions
