About this role

Varda seeks a Mission Software Engineer II to develop and maintain ground segment software for spacecraft operations, including telemetry services, mission control interfaces, simulation tools, and deployment infrastructure. You'll work across lab, test, and mission environments, collaborating with flight software, avionics, and operations teams to enable reliable in-orbit pharmaceutical processing missions.

What you'll do

  • Develop high-reliability ground segment services for telemetry ingestion, scaling, distribution, and spacecraft commanding
  • Design operator-grade mission control UIs and dashboards to optimize operations workflows
  • Build simulation tools and test automation frameworks for flight software, device emulators, and scenario-based testing
  • Design and implement mission platform infrastructure including CI/CD pipelines, service templates, and infrastructure-as-code
  • Create robust deployment patterns and strategies for lab, test stand, and mission network environments
  • Standardize observability, test harnesses, and hardware-in-the-loop frameworks as self-service tooling
