Varda seeks an Avionics Systems Engineer II to design, integrate, and test avionics systems for their Winnebago spacecraft. This role bridges hardware and operations, requiring expertise in electrical architecture, fault analysis, and verification testing for both orbital and reentry phases.
What you'll do
- Define project scopes and requirements with cross-functional teams, guiding designs from concept through production
- Develop electrical architecture, system diagrams, and budgets for power, telemetry, mass, and channel allocation
- Analyze systems for faults and risks, creating mitigation plans and FDIR strategies
- Conduct verification testing on flight and Hardware-In-The-Loop systems to ensure launch readiness
- Participate in mission operations as avionics specialist, monitoring system health and reentry commit criteria
- Design, build, and operate HITL testbeds and ground infrastructure for vehicle simulation and testing
