About this role
Varda seeks a Build Reliability Engineer II to partner with design and manufacturing teams on spacecraft hardware production, ensuring processes yield verified, reliable components at scale. You'll lead failure investigations, manage non-conforming product, and support quality and flight reliability across in-orbit pharmaceutical and reentry vehicle programs.
What you'll do
- Develop test, manufacturability, and inspection plans for vehicle hardware in collaboration with design and manufacturing teams
- Contain and provide guidance on suspect or non-conforming product to quality inspectors, technicians, and engineers
- Lead failure investigations to identify root causes and mitigate risks in production, test, and operational environments
- Conduct critical peer review of hardware during design reviews and acceptance/qualification test campaigns
- Support Quality, Flight Reliability, and Mission Assurance functions across spacecraft programs
- Identify process improvements to scale production while maintaining reliability standards
