About this role

Varda seeks a Spacecraft Electrical Engineer to design, integrate, and test avionics systems for the Winnebago orbital vehicle. You'll develop electrical architectures, conduct comprehensive verification on flight and HITL hardware, oversee system integration, and support mission operations from ground infrastructure to space and reentry phases.

What you'll do

  • Design electrical architectures, system diagrams, and budgets for power, telemetry, and mass predictions aligned with vehicle objectives
  • Analyze avionics architecture for faults and risks, developing mitigation plans and FDIR strategies
  • Develop and execute comprehensive verification plans for flight and HITL avionics hardware
  • Design, build, and operate Hardware In The Loop testbeds to simulate spacecraft systems on the ground
  • Oversee Winnebago avionics integration and serve as primary contact for integrated system investigations
  • Support mission operations as avionics specialist, assessing system health and reentry commit criteria
