About this role

Varda seeks an experienced Avionics/Electronics Systems Engineer II to design, integrate, and test spacecraft avionics systems for the Winnebago vehicle. This role bridges concept through production, managing electrical architecture, risk mitigation, and comprehensive verification while collaborating across engineering teams to ensure mission readiness for in-orbit operations and reentry.

What you'll do

  • Define project scopes and requirements with cross-functional teams, guiding designs from concept to full-scale production
  • Develop electrical architecture, system diagrams, and budgets for power, telemetry, size, and mass predictions
  • Perform fault analysis and risk mitigation, including FDIR development and operational workarounds
  • Conduct verification testing on flight and Hardware-In-The-Loop systems for launch and mission readiness
  • Lead avionics system integration and act as primary contact for integrated systems investigations
  • Design, build, and operate HITL testbeds and ground support infrastructure for vehicle testing
