About this role

Vast is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLSS) to develop and execute production processes for fluid, thermal, and pressurized gas hardware destined for commercial space stations. You'll work hands-on from first builds through flight hardware, defining repeatable manufacturing procedures and driving design improvements with the engineering team.

What you'll do

  • Execute build, assembly, and integration of ECLSS fluid hardware alongside technicians from first article through flight production
  • Author and maintain work instructions, assembly procedures, build travelers, and inspection plans for assigned assemblies
  • Define manufacturing processes including tube bending, fitting installation, brazed/welded joints, cleaning, passivation, and assembly
  • Support proof, leak, and functional testing of fluid assemblies and disposition test data
  • Identify and resolve design for manufacturing and assembly issues in collaboration with Design Engineering
  • Design and procure tooling, fixtures, and handling hardware; train technicians on new processes
