About this role

Vercel seeks a Software Engineer for Trust & Safety to build and operate abuse detection systems protecting millions of developers on their platform. You'll analyze threat patterns, develop LLM-driven detection techniques, and design production systems that combat platform abuse at scale while maintaining developer velocity.

What you'll do

  • Analyze threat actor behavior and abuse patterns across large datasets to inform detection logic and mitigation strategies
  • Research and implement LLM-driven techniques for abuse detection, classification, and prevention
  • Design and develop production-ready systems that detect and disrupt abusive behavior across Vercel
  • Build and maintain internal tools, datasets, and evaluation pipelines for trust and safety workflows
  • Collaborate with security, product, and infrastructure teams to transition research into stable, scalable systems
  • Own systems end-to-end from initial research through production deployment and iteration

  • JavaScript/TypeScript and Python programming
  • LLM experience including prompt engineering, evaluation, and fine-tuning
  • Abuse prevention, trust & safety, or security engineering
