About this role
Verkada is hiring an Embedded Software Engineer to develop cloud-managed access control firmware and systems. You'll work on Linux-based embedded devices that power door management, scheduling, and credential control, collaborating with firmware, backend, and frontend teams in a startup-like environment within the company.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain embedded Linux firmware for access control devices
- Design and implement secure, scalable distributed systems for cloud-managed access
- Debug hardware-firmware integration issues and optimize device performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring product features from concept to completion
- Work on Linux kernel patches, device drivers, and security-focused programming
- Own technical responsibility for major access control system components
