Voyager Technologies seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer V to lead the design of complex defense and space systems, including actuators, rocket motors, and pressure vessels. This senior role demands expertise across CAD modeling, advanced materials, structural/thermal analysis, and manufacturing processes, with responsibility for optimizing performance and driving innovation in mission-critical applications.
What you'll do
- Design and optimize complex actuators, igniters, pressure vessels, and solid rocket motor systems
- Conduct trade-off analysis and provide multidisciplinary design recommendations
- Create intricate 2D/3D CAD models and detailed technical drawings with GD&T expertise
- Perform structural, dynamic, and thermal analysis using simulation tools
- Select and characterize advanced materials including ceramics, refractory metals, and composites
- Communicate technical findings through presentations and specialized documentation
