Supplier Quality Engineer
About this role
Waabi seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier qualification, qualification, and lifecycle management for autonomous vehicle components. You'll oversee APQP/PPAP processes, conduct technical audits, manage supplier relationships, and drive quality improvements across the supply base using advanced problem-solving methodologies.
What you'll do
- Conduct technical audits and qualify suppliers against IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards, managing the full supplier lifecycle from sourcing through production support
- Lead APQP and PPAP processes, ensuring all 18 PPAP elements are delivered and validated before Start of Production
- Partner with engineering during Design for Manufacturing phase to optimize complex mechanical designs for high-yield production
- Define manufacturing special characteristics, develop control plans and PFMEAs, and implement error-proofing solutions for assembly and integration
- Lead Root Cause Corrective Action investigations using 8D methodology for supplier non-conformances and field performance issues
- Conduct Process Verification testing, run-at-rate studies, and EOL tester validation to confirm supplier manufacturing capability

- 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone problem-solving analysis
- Solidworks or similar 3D CAD/CAE software and GD&T tolerancing
- FEA analysis and tolerance stack-up evaluation
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (PCB, PCBA, sheet metal, injection molding, CNC machining, etc.)
- PLM tools and Engineering Change Order management
- Automotive standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 26262)
- Supplier quality management and audit experience
