About this role

Wayve seeks an Embedded Software Test Engineer to design and execute automated tests for onboard autonomous driving software systems. You'll validate software across embedded platforms, collaborate with developers to close test gaps, and build CI pipelines that enable faster iteration and self-service testing.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop automated tests for onboard software subsystems including OS, middleware, and sensors
  • Validate software behavior on embedded hardware platforms within hardware-in-the-loop environments
  • Collaborate with software engineers to identify test gaps and build coverage for new features
  • Debug and triage system-level issues across software and hardware boundaries
  • Contribute to CI pipelines and reusable test frameworks for developer self-service testing
  • Expand test coverage by shifting existing validation tests earlier in the development cycle

  • Embedded software testing on Linux or QNX-based platforms
  • Python or C++ programming for test automation
  • Embedded hardware platform experience and hardware/software interactions
  • Complex system-level debugging and triage
  • Software testing principles including automation and integration testing
  • Hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) testing environments
  • CI/CD systems such as Buildkite
  • Sensor systems and data pipeline familiarity
