Systems Engineer, AI Validation

About this role

Wayve seeks a Systems Engineer to lead AI validation strategy for autonomous driving systems, defining metrics and test coverage that ensure the AI Driver meets safety and performance standards across multiple products. You'll own validation from strategy through execution, collaborating with product and engineering teams to build confidence in autonomy systems destined for global deployment.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute comprehensive validation strategies across test modalities for autonomy products
• Define metrics for measuring on-road and simulated driving behavior performance
• Design test coverage requirements and build comprehensive test suites
• Collaborate with Product, Safety, and Engineering teams to establish acceptance criteria
• Analyze test results and communicate findings to stakeholders
• Identify dependencies across data, simulation, and evaluation teams to enable scalable validation

• Python programming for metrics implementation and evaluation
• Autonomous driving or robotics systems knowledge (5+ years)
• Driving behavior analysis and performance measurement
• Simulated and physical testing environments for autonomous systems
• Test result analysis and technical reporting
• End-to-end project ownership in fast-paced environments
• SQL for large dataset analysis (desirable)
• AI tools and agentic workflows (desirable)
