About this role

Wyetech seeks a Database Engineer 3 to design, develop, and optimize relational and object-oriented databases for federal government systems. You'll manage the full lifecycle from requirements gathering through implementation, handling complex data architecture decisions and ensuring systems meet performance, security, and scalability needs.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop relational and object-oriented database structures aligned with system architecture
  • Create database loading software, parsers, and ad hoc queries to manipulate and retrieve data
  • Project long-range database administration requirements and optimization opportunities
  • Manage tradeoffs between data volume, user count, distribution, response times, security, and retention policies
  • Support systems from requirements phase through acceptance testing and initial operational capability
  • Evaluate and recommend system improvements, migrations to cloud methodologies, and maintenance strategies
