About this role

SpaceXAI seeks a Civil Engineer to design and manage civil infrastructure for battery storage facilities supporting AI training campuses. You'll lead site design, fire-safety coordination, and construction oversight for high-capacity power systems in Memphis, TN, working hands-on with a small engineering team on a fast-paced schedule.

What you'll do

  • Design civil and site layouts for battery storage plants including pads, foundations, grading, drainage, and access roads per NFPA 855 standards
  • Develop fire and life-safety provisions such as water supply systems, hydrant placement, and emergency vehicle access for regulatory approval
  • Coordinate seismic and severe-weather design requirements with structural engineers for storage blocks and equipment supports
  • Produce construction-ready civil packages including site plans, sections, details, and specifications
  • Manage field RFIs, submittals, and quality issues during battery storage yard construction
  • Interface civil design with electrical duct banks, oil containment systems, and grounding grids across teams
