Mechanical Engineer (Data Center Infrastructure)

About this role

xAI seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design, optimize, and maintain HVAC and fluid systems for advanced data center facilities in Memphis, TN. You'll serve as the subject matter expert on critical infrastructure, performing CAD modeling, fluid analysis, system commissioning, and predictive maintenance while collaborating with facility operations teams.

What you'll do

• Design and optimize HVAC, piping, and fluid systems using CAD modeling and fluid analysis
• Perform pressure balance calculations, component design analysis, and consumables determination
• Commission systems, validate performance specifications, and establish predictive maintenance protocols
• Select, size, and support procurement of fluid handling equipment and components
• Own maintenance and reliability of critical infrastructure assets across the facility
• Lead root-cause investigations on equipment failures and implement corrective actions site-wide
