What is an AI mock interview?
An AI mock interview is a practice round where an AI plays the interviewer and you answer out loud. On InterviewChamp, Mock AI reads your resume (and a job post if you add one), asks up to 6 questions in a human voice with follow-ups, and shows the AI Suggested Answer for each one, like a live interview. After about 10 minutes you get an overall score with how it was worked out, what to fix and a stronger version of each answer, built from your resume.

An interviewer who has read your resume.
The interviewer asks, out loud.
Choose Maya the friendly recruiter, David the hiring manager, Priya the technical lead or Marcus the tough executive, then one of six voices.
- Questions come from your resume and the job post
- Up to 6, with follow-ups when an answer is vague
You answer on the real interview screen.
Mock AI runs on the same screen as a live session, so the day itself feels familiar.
- Your words are transcribed as you speak (or type if you'd rather)
- The AI Suggested Answer appears for every question
- A report card waits at the end
The interview is a speaking test
Most candidates don’t fail for lack of knowledge — they know the material and still blank when someone’s watching. Interview practice has to train saying it, not just knowing it.
You answer out loud
Not in your head, not in a text box. The live transcript shows exactly what you said, filler words and all.
A real voice asks the questions
Hearing a question is harder than reading one. You practice listening, thinking and answering with a little pressure on.
It knows your resume and your job
The questions sound like your interview, not a generic list.
A report card you can act on
An overall score with every check behind it, then what worked, what to fix and a stronger version of each answer. Download it and drill the weak spots.
Where is your job search stuck?
Find the line that sounds like your week. Each one takes you straight to the part of InterviewChamp built to fix it.
- You're here
You know the material, then blank the second they ask.
Knowing an answer and saying it out loud while someone watches are two different skills, and most prep only trains the first one.
The fix: Grab questions for your role from our free question generator and answer them out loud. The AI transcribes you and drafts a stronger answer beside yours, built from your resume and the job description.
You've sent application after application and heard nothing back.
When your resume doesn't use the words in the job posting, recruiters searching for those words never see it.
The fix: Paste your resume and the posting to get a match score and the missing keywords, ranked by how much the posting cares about each one. Then fix the gaps in the resume builder before you hit apply.
Your coding round is on the calendar.
You can code, but a timed problem in an editor you've never used is its own skill, and that's the one being tested.
The fix: Open a practice problem on the platform your test uses and press one hotkey in the desktop app: it reads the problem off your screen and returns a working solution with its time and space complexity. Take the real test on your own, and on live coding calls check what the company allows.
Your live interview is tomorrow.
One question you didn't see coming can stall the whole call.
The fix: On Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex and phone screens, each question the interviewer asks shows up as text on your screen with a suggested answer built from your resume and the job description. Check what the company allows before a live round.
You keep landing interviews but no offers.
Something in your answers is costing you the offer, and it's hard to fix what you can't remember saying.
The fix: Run the round that went wrong again as a practice session. Every session is saved with the full transcript and each answer the AI suggested, so you can reread it the next morning and drill the answers that fell flat.

The tool you practice with is the tool you walk in with.
Every practice session builds fluency with the same assistant you can run in a live interview on Zoom, Google Meet or Teams, if the company allows it, so check their rules first. For coding tests, recorded video interviews and take-homes, do your practice here beforehand and take the test itself on your own.

How does an AI mock interview compare with other ways to practice?
Practicing alone, with a friend or with a paid coach can all help, and a real person asking the questions is hard to beat. What an AI mock interview adds is an interviewer on call who knows your resume, and a report card with a stronger answer for every question.

Mock interview questions, answered
Yes. Mock AI plays the interviewer. It reads your resume, and the job post if you add one, then asks up to 6 questions out loud in a human voice and follows up when an answer is vague. You pick who you're facing: a friendly recruiter, a hiring manager, a technical lead or a tough executive.
Create a free account and add your resume. Open Mock AI from the sidebar, pick an interviewer, a voice and the kind of interview, and press start. Answer out loud, or type if you prefer. It takes about 10 minutes.
A report card: an overall score and the checks behind it, then for every answer what worked, what to fix and a stronger version built from your resume. We save only your score, to track your progress, so download the report if you want to keep the rest.
Because the interview tests retrieval under observation, not knowledge. Most candidates know the material and still blank when someone is watching. Saying answers out loud — with a live transcript proving what you actually said — trains the knowing-it-to-saying-it bridge that silent prep never touches.

No. Mock AI runs in your browser. You need a free account and a microphone, or you can type your answers. It isn't in the desktop app yet.
For a live interview with a person, yes, if the company allows it. Check their rules first. The AI Suggested Answer in Mock AI is the same one you get live on Zoom, Google Meet and Teams. For coding tests, recorded video interviews and take-homes, practice here beforehand and don't use an AI helper during the test itself.
