Allen Control Systems
Electrical Engineer, Wire Harness & Electrical Integration
About this role
Allen Control Systems, a defense startup founded by former Navy engineers, seeks an Electrical Engineer to design wire harness systems and oversee electrical integration for an autonomous gun turret platform. You'll architect complex wiring solutions connecting sensors, computing systems, actuators, and power distribution while collaborating across electrical, firmware, and mechanical teams in a fast-paced prototyping environment.
What you'll do
- Design and develop wire harness architectures, cable assemblies, and detailed wiring schematics for robotic electromechanical systems
- Perform system-level electrical integration across sensors, computing hardware, actuators, and power electronics
- Create wiring diagrams, pinout documentation, harness drawings, and electrical schematics for prototypes and production
- Select appropriate connectors, cables, shielding strategies, and routing solutions to meet environmental and performance requirements
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers on harness routing, packaging, strain relief, and integration within compact architectures
- Support prototype bring-up, troubleshooting, and manufacturing validation of cable assemblies and integrated systems
What they're looking for
- Wire harness and cable assembly design
- Electrical schematics and documentation
- Connector selection and interconnect knowledge
- Electrical integration and system-level wiring architecture
- Oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers
- MIL-STD practices and high-reliability design standards
- Harness design tools (Zuken E3, Mentor Graphics/Capital Harness)
- Robotic and electromechanical systems experience
