About this role
Allen Control Systems, a defense startup founded by ex-Navy engineers, seeks a Systems Engineer to architect autonomous weapon platforms in Austin, TX. You'll manage requirements, verification, and cross-functional alignment for complex systems, translating mission objectives into testable specifications and ensuring technical rigor throughout development.
What you'll do
- Own requirements management and verification closure for autonomous systems from definition through testing
- Translate program goals and constraints into clear, testable system and subsystem requirements
- Define verification strategies, methods, and pass/fail criteria before testing begins
- Drive requirement decomposition and traceability across mechanical, electrical, software, and operations teams
- Identify gaps in requirements and verification coverage early to mitigate program risks
- Support system integration and connect observed behavior back to requirements to resolve issues
