About this role

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Design and Release Engineer to lead the development and launch of door assemblies, hinges, latches, and stamped-sheet metal components for automotive vehicle programs. You'll collaborate across design, manufacturing, and supplier teams to ensure closure systems meet safety, durability, cost, and timing objectives while managing the complete engineering release process.

What you'll do

  • Lead specification development and design release for doors, liftgates, hinges, latches, and stamped components
  • Define component requirements aligned with vehicle-level objectives (durability, NVH, safety, ergonomics, cost, weight)
  • Create and maintain DFMEA, DVP&R, work product documentation, and engineering change records
  • Conduct mechanical, structural, durability, and NVH reviews in coordination with CAE/FEA teams
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing to ensure design feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and launch timing
  • Manage ECRs/ECOs, update BOM/EBOM records, and support prototype builds, pilot production, and launch readiness
