Junior BIW/Sheet metal Engineer
About this role
ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Junior BIW/Sheet Metal Engineer to design and develop Body-in-White upper body components for automotive clients. You'll use NX CAD software to create parametric models, collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing plants, and support vehicle launches while ensuring designs meet cost, performance, and regulatory requirements.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and release BIW upper body components using NX parametric modeling
- Manage CBOM, Quadris, and Source Package documentation with supplier technical reviews
- Define and track engineering validation plans (DVP&R, DFMEA, PFMEA) and coordinate physical testing
- Collaborate with external suppliers, stamping plants, and body shops to ensure manufacturability and cost targets
- Provide onsite plant launch support to troubleshoot assembly issues and implement corrective actions
- Communicate project status, risks, and deliverables across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
