About this role
Anduril Industries seeks an experienced Firmware Engineer to develop low-level embedded firmware for defense systems operating across land, sea, and air platforms. You'll design and own firmware projects for microcontrollers, mentor team members, and collaborate closely with electrical engineering to solve complex integration challenges.
What you'll do
- Develop low-level firmware and device drivers for microcontrollers in bare-metal and RTOS environments
- Own design, implementation, and completion of embedded firmware projects end-to-end
- Debug and troubleshoot issues spanning electrical, firmware, and software boundaries
- Mentor firmware engineers and establish best practices in design and engineering
- Select microcontrollers and peripherals; review schematics with electrical engineering teams
- Manage multiple concurrent projects at varying development stages
What they're looking for
- Expert-level C programming for embedded systems
- ARM, AVR, or similar microcontroller architecture experience
- Bus protocol integration (USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet)
- Hardware debugging (JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
- Analog and digital sensor integration
- Board bring-up and firmware architecture
- STM32 microcontroller experience (preferred)
- CAN and Ethernet protocol experience (preferred)
