Anduril Industries
Thermal Analysis Engineer
About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Thermal Analysis Engineer to design and validate thermal systems for advanced defense technology hardware. You'll develop analytical models, conduct CFD simulations, and correlate predictions with test data to ensure products perform in extreme environments across air, land, sea, and space applications.
What you'll do
- Execute first-order thermal models using hand calculations, spreadsheets, MATLAB, and Python to guide design decisions
- Develop and maintain CFD models and integrated FEMs to predict temperatures, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics for imaging platforms
- Perform test-model correlation studies to validate analytical predictions against experimental data
- Collaborate with environmental test engineers on test design, instrumentation, execution, and data analysis
- Prepare technical reports presenting thermal analysis findings to internal teams, management, and customers
- Stay current with thermal analysis techniques, materials technology, and industry standards
What they're looking for
- Thermal FEA software (STAR-CCM+, ANSYS, Icepak, or Flotherm)
- MATLAB or Python for modeling and data processing
- CFD simulation and heat transfer analysis
- Test-model correlation and experimental characterization
- Technical report writing and presentation
- CAD and engineering drawing standards
- MIL-STD-810 testing standards
- Data acquisition and test instrumentation
Benefits
- Competitive equity grants as part of total compensation
- Comprehensive health and wellness coverage at little or no cost
