About this role
Antares seeks a Radiation Shielding Engineer to design and analyze radiation protection systems for advanced microreactors destined for terrestrial, underwater, and space deployment. You'll characterize radiation sources, optimize shielding configurations, and ensure regulatory compliance as part of a growing team developing next-generation nuclear technology.
What you'll do
- Design and own radiation shielding analysis for reactor operation and post-operation scenarios
- Develop neutronics simulations to characterize radiation sources from fission, activation, and decay
- Conduct material trade studies and optimize shielding for deployment and transportation
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and licensing pathways
- Maintain tools and analyses in accordance with quality assurance standards
- Collaborate across reactor and site design teams to meet customer requirements
