Software Engineer, R&D Platforms

About this role

Antares seeks an R&D Software Engineer to build tools and automation frameworks that enable rigorous experimental testing and prototype development for advanced nuclear microreactors. You'll create data workflows, hardware interfaces, and test infrastructure that empower engineers to collect high-quality data and make better technical decisions in a fast-moving research environment.

What you'll do

• Build software-hardware interfaces and test automation frameworks for lab equipment, DAQ systems, sensors, and prototype hardware
• Develop Python-based workflows for data acquisition, analysis, visualization, and automated reporting
• Create internal tools for experiment setup, test execution, data review, and post-processing
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, nuclear, and test teams to understand experimental needs and establish best practices
• Debug software, instrumentation, networking, and hardware-in-the-loop issues in lab environments
• Support verification and validation activities by improving test repeatability, data quality, and traceability
