About this role
Antares is seeking a Test Engineer II to design and build comprehensive test infrastructure for advanced nuclear microreactors. You'll develop end-to-end test plans for critical subsystems, create bespoke test stands, and establish testing best practices while collaborating across engineering teams.
What you'll do
- Design and build test stands and rigs for heat pipe components and thermal systems
- Develop comprehensive test plans with instrumentation, execution steps, pass/fail criteria, and data analysis workflows
- Create test schedules aligned with development timelines and validate measurement precision through specialized fixtures and sensors
- Lead test design reviews and communicate results to stakeholders
- Define standard testing processes for prototype, qualification, and production-grade hardware
- Investigate root causes of failures and implement corrective actions

- Test engineering and test rig design
- CAD modeling and assembly design
- Test instrumentation integration (pressure transducers, thermocouples, strain gauges, solenoid valves)
- Thermal and mechanical testing
- LabVIEW, Simulink, or similar test software
