About this role

Antares seeks an experienced Turbomachinery Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and testing of closed Brayton cycle turbopumps for advanced nuclear microreactors. You'll own the complete turbomachinery system from concept through qualification, ensuring reliability and manufacturability while collaborating across R&D, test, and quality teams.

What you'll do

  • Design, analyze, build, and test turbopumps for nuclear reactors using CAD and ANSYS tools
  • Perform mechanical analysis on turbopump components including rotordynamic, structural, and fatigue assessments
  • Conduct thermodynamic system balances and develop performance prediction models
  • Lead component and assembly testing, define test configurations, and validate system operability
  • Troubleshoot failures during development and field operation; implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Drive design improvements and manufacturing optimizations to reduce cost and lead time
