About this role
Anthropic seeks an Applied AI Engineer to deploy Claude across life sciences research, working directly with flagship institutions to build production AI systems that accelerate scientific discovery. You'll develop ecosystem infrastructure, prototype AI agents for real research workflows, and create reusable tools that scale Claude's impact across academia, biotech, and pharma.
What you'll do
- Partner with life sciences research institutions to understand workflows and build production AI systems integrated into their daily research
- Develop MCP servers, benchmarks, and reusable agent skills for genomics, literature databases, and experimental repositories
- Identify deployment challenges in life sciences (data heterogeneity, auditability, prototype-to-trust gaps) and communicate findings to product teams
- Create technical documentation and self-serve resources enabling partner institutions to adopt solutions independently
- Prototype and evaluate LLM-powered agents for scientific workflows from discovery through translation
- Build from scratch in ambiguous situations, driving projects from exploration to production deployment
