About this role

Apex seeks a Cyber Security Engineer to design and implement enterprise-wide security architectures, manage compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2), and lead security engineering across cloud and on-premises environments. This role combines technical expertise with strategic leadership to protect Apex's satellite manufacturing operations and information assets against evolving threats.

What you'll do

  • Design and maintain enterprise cybersecurity architecture across cloud, on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments
  • Deploy and optimize security controls including SIEM, IDS/IPS, DLP, EDR/XDR, IAM, and vulnerability management platforms
  • Conduct threat modeling, security assessments, and architecture reviews for new systems and applications
  • Ensure compliance with NIST 800-53/171/172, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and SOC 2 frameworks
  • Support incident response, threat hunting, and develop cyber resilience strategies
  • Mentor junior security staff and serve as technical subject matter expert to leadership and cross-functional teams
