Sensors Systems Engineer
About this role
Apex seeks a Sensors Systems Engineer to lead satellite sensor products from concept through production qualification. You'll own the complete development lifecycle, drive technical trade studies, oversee verification testing, and serve as the engineering authority for production support.
What you'll do
- Own sensor products through full development lifecycle including design, analysis, prototyping, qualification, and production
- Lead verification and validation activities, developing test plans, procedures, and executing qualification campaigns
- Perform system and component-level trade studies to optimize performance, cost, schedule, and risk
- Conduct failure investigations and root cause analyses, incorporating lessons learned into future designs
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams (structures, thermal, avionics, software, manufacturing) to develop integrated solutions
- Manage project budget, schedule, and tasking while serving as Responsible Engineering Authority during production
