Applied Intuition seeks a Functional Safety Engineer to develop and oversee safety across their Vehicle OS platform, applying ISO 26262 standards from system architecture through software implementation. The role bridges system and software safety, requiring hands-on experience with safety analyses, requirement traceability, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering teams.

What you'll do

  • Develop technical safety concepts and derive safety requirements per ISO 26262 Parts 3-4
  • Conduct system-level safety analyses including FMEA, FTA, and dependent failure analysis
  • Support ASIL decomposition and allocate safety requirements across system, hardware, and software layers
  • Derive software safety requirements and review architecture for ASIL compliance and freedom from interference
  • Maintain end-to-end safety traceability and support external audits and certification
  • Guide software teams on compliant practices including coding standards and coverage criteria
