About this role

Join Archer as an AI Autonomy Engineer to develop and deploy vision-language and VLA models that enable aircraft to perceive, reason, and navigate autonomously. You'll build multi-model systems, validate through simulation and flight testing, and take AI solutions from prototype to production on edge hardware.

What you'll do

  • Develop and integrate multi-model systems including VLN/VLA, perception, and language models
  • Design benchmarks and measure success metrics against internal baselines and published results
  • Fine-tune and adapt foundation models with clear documentation of tradeoffs
  • Validate models through data-driven testing in simulation, on hardware, and flight test
  • Deploy models to edge hardware with monitoring under real latency and power constraints
  • Partner with Safety and Simulation Engineers to verify model outputs

What they're looking for

  • Vision-language models (VLM/VLA)
  • Machine learning model fine-tuning and adaptation
  • Perception and computer vision
  • Edge AI and hardware deployment
  • Data-driven testing and benchmarking
  • Python or similar ML languages
  • Robotics or autonomous systems experience
  • Simulation and flight test validation
