Research and Prototyping Engineer

About this role

Arcturus is developing carbon nanomaterial-based wire technology to improve electric motors, heat sinks, and energy infrastructure. This hands-on co-op role supports a technical team across nanomaterials research, additive manufacturing, process engineering, and testing—ideal for someone curious about materials science and advanced manufacturing.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain supplier databases for carbon nanomaterials and powders with specs, pricing, and lead times
• Support nanomaterial sample preparation, handling, documentation, and experimental tracking
• Assist with CAD fixture design and development for additive manufacturing and experimental setups
• Help create and improve standard operating procedures for sample preparation and processing workflows
• Support internal materials testing including Raman spectroscopy, electrical and mechanical characterization
• Coordinate with external labs on testing quotes, sample shipments, and results tracking
