About this role

Aurelius Systems seeks an embedded test engineer to design and lead R&D testing infrastructure for autonomous directed energy systems. You'll write firmware test code, build instrumentation from scratch, and own end-to-end verification across firmware, power electronics, and full-system integration as the company scales from prototype to production.

What you'll do

  • Design and build test infrastructure, HIL/SIL environments, and instrumentation setups from the ground up
  • Write embedded firmware and Python test automation code to exercise systems end-to-end
  • Lead field testing operations: setup, data collection, analysis, and failure investigations on the private 400-acre range
  • Debug across firmware, power rails, and electrical systems to root cause and validate fixes
  • Develop test plans, acceptance criteria, and readiness gates for prototype-to-production transition
  • Enforce safety procedures and partner with hardware teams on design-for-manufacturability and production readiness
