Electrical Engineer II, RF Test Engineer
About this role
Axon seeks an Electrical Engineer II / RF Test Engineer to design and execute comprehensive wireless testing protocols for body-worn cameras, vehicular systems, and connected devices. You'll validate RF performance across cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GNSS technologies while supporting regulatory certification and field validation efforts.
What you'll do
- Design and implement RF test plans evaluating wireless device performance against product and regulatory requirements
- Measure and characterize RF performance metrics (TRP, TIS, OTA) using advanced equipment like CMX500 and CMW500 in chamber environments
- Assess conducted performance of LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GNSS technologies using spectrum analyzers and communication testers
- Investigate and debug RF issues including poor sensitivity, low transmit power, and signal interference in wireless devices
- Support regulatory pre-certification and formal certification activities by preparing samples, coordinating with external labs, and troubleshooting problems
- Document test procedures, results, and recommendations in clear reports for cross-functional teams
