Axon
Mission Engineer - Baltimore
About this role
Axon seeks a Mission Engineer to embed onsite with law enforcement agencies and own end-to-end customer outcomes. You'll design and deploy AI-powered workflows, automations, and integrations on Axon's platform while driving operational transformation and adoption—measured by real production impact, not process.
What you'll do
- Design and build AI agents, workflows, automations, and integrations directly on Axon's platform (DEMS, Fusus, AI Era, Records) deployed in agency environments
- Maintain 3–4 days/week onsite presence, discovering agency problems and translating them into compliant, mission-focused solutions
- Own full lifecycle delivery: deployment, adoption, optimization, and ongoing success—accountable end-to-end, not coordinating other teams
- Drive AI adoption through hands-on user collaboration, measure impact via usage and mission outcomes, and iterate until adoption sticks
- Assess operational workflows, define success metrics, and lead strategic planning and quarterly business reviews with agency leadership
- Capture field insights, convert one-off builds into reusable playbooks, and feed customer intelligence to Product and Sales for roadmap and expansion
What they're looking for
- Platform engineering and configuration (Axon DEMS, Fusus, AI Era, Records, integrations)
- AI workflow design and deployment (agents, prompts, RAG, evaluations)
- Operational transformation and process improvement
- Technical troubleshooting and cross-team coordination
- Customer relationship management and executive stakeholder engagement
- Program and project management in complex, regulated environments
- Data pipeline and automation design
- CJIS and evidence-integrity compliance knowledge
