About this role
Axon seeks a Mission Engineer II to embed with public safety agencies and build technical solutions that address their operational challenges. You'll combine software engineering skills with deep customer understanding to design and implement applications, automations, and integrations across Axon's platform while serving as a trusted technical resource for your assigned agency.
What you'll do
- Embed with assigned public safety agencies to understand their workflows, systems, and operational priorities
- Build applications, dashboards, workflows, and automations using Axon products and approved development tools
- Translate customer problems into technical requirements and drive solutions from discovery through adoption
- Serve as primary technical resource for agencies, supporting critical deployments and complex technical issues
- Identify and document recurring customer needs and successful solutions to share across the Mission Engineering team
- Coordinate with Product, Engineering, Support, and Deployment teams to connect agencies with appropriate resources

- Software engineering fundamentals (APIs, data structures, scripting, testing, debugging, version control)
- Python, JavaScript, SQL, or similar programming languages
- REST APIs and cloud platform experience
- AI concepts and practical applications
- Low-code/no-code development and workflow automation
- Technical communication with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Problem-solving in ambiguous, complex environments
- Customer-facing engagement and organizational analysis
