About this role

Baselayer seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to build customer-facing integrations for their agentic economy platform, shipping verification APIs, MCP servers, and reference implementations from initial partner conversations to production. You'll bridge technical partner needs with core platform capabilities while embedding in agent builder communities.

What you'll do

  • Ship end-to-end partner integrations for agentic economy products from technical scoping to production deployment
  • Build prototypes, demos, and reference implementations for partners and conferences on short timelines
  • Own developer and agent-facing quality: API design, documentation, sample code, sandbox environments, and integration guides
  • Translate partner constraints into clear technical specifications for the core platform team
  • Optimize agent-facing experiences including tool descriptions, response design, and error handling
  • Engage agent builder communities (Discord, hackathons, open-source) to gather feedback and showcase solutions

What they're looking for

  • TypeScript and/or Python (5+ years production experience)
  • API design and REST/webhook integration patterns
  • OAuth and JWT authentication flows
  • Model Context Protocol (MCP), LLM tool-calling, and agent frameworks
  • Rapid prototyping and iterative development
  • Verifiable credentials and identity infrastructure (preferred)
  • Payments domain knowledge (preferred)
  • Technical communication with non-engineering partners
