Software Engineer, Full Stack (Process Execution)
About this role
Benchling seeks a Full Stack Software Engineer to build and maintain core features for their AI-powered biotech R&D platform, specifically working on the Process Execution team's workflow engine, recipes, and assays. You'll develop mission-critical systems used by thousands of scientists at major pharmaceutical companies, bridging scientific workflows with AI-assisted tools.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain full-stack features across workflow engine, recipes, and assays using backend services and frontend interfaces
- Design and implement data models for workflow graphs, task execution tracking, and work management systems
- Develop products on top of the orchestration engine that support industry-standard life science processes
- Collaborate with AI Agents team to integrate AI-assisted capabilities into workflow and product surfaces
- Participate in on-call rotation (approximately 1.5 weeks per quarter) to support production systems
- Partner with product and design teams to translate complex scientific requirements into intuitive, reliable software
