About this role
Box is seeking a Software Engineer III for its Database Platform team to build scalable relational database solutions supporting millions of requests per second. You'll work on adopting cloud-managed databases, automating schema management, and designing solutions that enable developers across the company to ship features rapidly while maintaining enterprise-grade performance and reliability.
What you'll do
- Adopt and evolve cloud-managed database solutions to handle Box's growing scale and traffic
- Design novel approaches to address scale challenges with exponentially increased data tier usage
- Develop automated tools and interfaces for database schema management to streamline developer workflows
- Collaborate on scalable database schema design across Box's platform for diverse business needs
- Manage critical production systems with focus on performance, availability, and consistency
- Participate in on-call rotation to respond to and triage production issues
