Design Engineer, Design Systems

About this role

Confido seeks a Design Engineer to build an AI-ready design system from scratch for their CPG operations platform. You'll create tokens, components, and documentation while bridging design and engineering to ship polished, pixel-perfect interfaces.

What you'll do

• Build Confido's design system foundation including tokens, components, styles, and documentation
• Implement production-grade React/TypeScript components with attention to interactions and polish
• Design components in real product context before abstracting into reusable patterns
• Bridge design and engineering perspectives to translate intent into code
• Rapidly prototype new concepts to validate ideas before full implementation
• Drive design system adoption across teams to improve shipping velocity

What they're looking for

• Design engineering or frontend development (4+ years)
• React and TypeScript
• CSS and animations
• Figma design tool proficiency
• Design system experience (tokens, components, documentation, governance)
• Visual design eye for layout, motion, and affordances
• Rapid prototyping ability
• Systems thinking and abstraction mindset
