SW and Controls Engineer

About this role

Contoro Robotics seeks a software-focused generalist engineer to architect and integrate the software and controls backbone for a new warehouse automation product. You'll own the end-to-end system—connecting perception, motion, robotics, and controls—by leveraging existing company modules and building production infrastructure, while working hands-on with a small team.

What you'll do

• Own system integration across perception, motion planning, robotics, controls, and conveyance subsystems
• Design vision and perception pipeline including optics, camera selection, lighting, and AI/CV models for production
• Build production software backbone: device communication, orchestration, state management, logging, and data pipelines
• Integrate PLC, motion controllers, robots, and I/O (conveyors, actuators, sensors); coordinate motion with sensing
• Commission and deploy systems on-site; debug across software, controls, and mechanical/electrical boundaries
• Identify and leverage existing company modules while establishing common platform standards across products
