AI Research Engineer - Robotics

About this role

Coram AI seeks an AI Research Engineer to deploy high-performance vision and multimodal models onto robotic platforms, optimizing for latency, reliability, and hardware constraints. You'll work on edge inference, model optimization, and real-time cloud pipelines for a video security platform powered by computer vision and AI.

What you'll do

• Deploy deep learning models on edge devices and cloud for real-time inference with strict latency requirements
• Fine-tune models on proprietary datasets and manage dataset versioning, labeling, and evaluation
• Write high-performance C++ or Rust code for deterministic, low-latency execution
• Optimize models in PyTorch and TensorRT through pruning, quantization, and graph optimization
• Build cloud pipelines processing millions of images and video streams in near real-time
• Profile production systems to identify and resolve memory, compute, and concurrency bottlenecks

What they're looking for

• Deep learning deployment on edge and GPU devices
• PyTorch and TensorRT expertise
• C++ or Rust programming for systems-level work
• GPU memory management and compute optimization
• Robotics or real-time systems experience
• Profiling and low-level performance debugging
• Multimodal or LLM inference knowledge (preferred)
• Distributed systems and observability (preferred)
