Mechanical Engineer - Arms

About this role

Figure, an AI robotics company, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop hardware components for autonomous humanoid robot arms. You'll handle the full engineering lifecycle from 3D CAD design through prototyping, testing, and manufacturing support in San Jose.

What you'll do

• Design 3D CAD parts meeting load, form factor, and durability specifications
• Build and test prototypes for assembly, range of motion, and routing
• Create accurate 2D technical drawings using GD&T standards
• Collaborate with procurement to select suppliers and order components
• Conduct first-article inspections, build test stands, and support production integration

• 3D CAD software (especially complex geometry design)
• Prototype design and building
• FEA and simulation analysis
• GD&T and technical documentation
• Actuator design (strain-wave, planetary, cycloidal)
• Electromechanical integration
• MATLAB or equivalent analysis tools
• Manufacturing process knowledge
