About this role
Fluidstack is seeking a Chemical & Water Quality Engineer to design and manage water treatment and cooling systems for their AI infrastructure data centers in Austin, TX. You'll own water chemistry specifications, engineer treatment systems, establish coolant standards, and manage vendor performance across their fleet.
What you'll do
- Develop and oversee water chemistry treatment programs for liquid-cooled cooling systems across the data center fleet
- Engineer water systems including makeup, treatment, filtration, and blowdown components for reference designs
- Establish and maintain coolant standards for direct liquid cooling applications covering chemistry, materials compatibility, and lifetime performance
- Diagnose and resolve corrosion, scaling, and biological issues in cooling systems
- Design monitoring systems to detect parameter drift before equipment damage occurs
- Manage vendor relationships and hold treatment suppliers accountable to performance outcomes
