About this role
Fluidstack seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to oversee steel fabrication and building systems quality for their massive AI data center buildout. You'll audit fabrication shops, conduct source inspections, and enforce quality standards across modular construction suppliers to ensure defects are caught before installation.
What you'll do
- Own supplier quality for steel fabrication and building systems feeding modular data center builds
- Audit fabrication shops on weld quality, dimensional control, and coating systems before and during production
- Conduct source inspections on fabricated assemblies to catch defects at the shop rather than on-site
- Standardize and flowdown quality requirements across all fabricators
- Manage schedule impacts when rejecting fabricated work and drive corrective actions
- Partner with shops to bring them up to quality standards rather than just documenting failures

- Steel fabrication quality assurance (welds, dimensions, coatings)
- Weld procedure specifications and structural drawing interpretation
- Source inspection and defect identification
- Quality standards enforcement and supplier management
- AWS CWI certification (preferred)
- AISC-certified shop experience (preferred)
- Non-destructive evaluation (NDE) methods (preferred)
- Modular construction QA (preferred)
