Controls Engineer — Critical Facilities & Data Center Operations
About this role
Fluidstack seeks a mid-level Controls Engineer to design, program, commission, and maintain building automation and control systems across critical data center infrastructure. This role combines hands-on field technician work with engineering responsibilities in a 24/7 mission-critical environment supporting AI compute deployment.
What you'll do
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on BMS/BAS controllers, sensors, actuators, and control panels with accurate documentation
- Diagnose and resolve control system faults using BMS front-end software and field test tools like multimeters and loop calibrators
- Configure BMS platforms (Ignition, Metasys, Niagara, EcoStruxure) including point mapping, alarms, and setpoint adjustments
- Support PLC/HMI troubleshooting, PID tuning, and integration across BACnet, Modbus, and SNMP protocols
- Execute commissioning activities including point verification, loop calibration, and functional testing for new and retrofit projects
- Ensure NFPA 70E compliance, LOTO procedures, and proper change management documentation
